About Us
To provide our elderly an opportunity to receive both mental and
social stimulation as well as receive the continual care that they need.
Our Story
As we grow older, we end up having to rely on people and things. This dependence may not always be good for the mind and body. Some become cynical, some fearful, some numb and mute. Old age is a time to cherish and spend wisely---to reconnect with past selves and share the knowledge and wisdom gained through years of toil and hard work.
Visiting Angels was started to give the elderly a safe space and loving environment just like home, but where they can continue to be self-sufficient and occupied in activities that keep them mentally and physically healthy. Starting out with a single member, we are now a community of elderly, volunteers and students who spend time with each other, learning and evolving in our never-ending personal journeys.
Dr. Eliza Pereira

Founder of Visiting Angels,
Mental health counselor,
Former HOD of Psychiatric Social Work
at St. Johns Hospital, Bangalore
With her 35 years of experience, Dr Eliza realized that she and others could use their backgrounds in medical social work to make a difference for the elderly citizens in our society. This passion led her to initiate Visiting Angels, to commit to and support the socio-psychological upkeeping and overall emotional wellness of elderly people through engagement, social connections and occupational therapy.
